Changing Period Poverty

On the surface, period poverty and construction may seem worlds apart but at Vaka, we know they’re deeply connected. Access to menstrual products determines whether a girl stays in school. Staying in school shapes her confidence, dignity, and long-term independence. And those outcomes lay the groundwork for what we do in this industry, building opportunity, stability, and futures.

Our Period Packs campaign in Zimbabwe isn’t about charity. It’s about equity. It’s about reminding the world that dignity is a foundation like steel, concrete, or planning permission.

You can’t build without it.

We’ve seen change start to happen.

Construction companies are now placing sanitary products on site because they understand inclusion isn’t just policy, it’s practice. That same mindset of care, safety, and visibility is what drives this initiative.

We’re proud to say this campaign is being driven by Soulv Education, a purpose-led organisation focused on youth development, personal growth, and education for living.

Their work sits at the intersection of mindset, opportunity, and access, making them the perfect partner for an initiative rooted in dignity and empowerment. Their leadership reminds us that when we invest in growing, learning, and evolving, we change more than outcomes. We change futures.

We’re inviting more sponsors and collaborators to join us. Whether you’re in construction, education, HR, or supply - your support will help us get Period Packs into the hands of girls who need them, starting in Bulawayo and expanding beyond.

If you believe in equity, education, and the future of young women this is your chance to help us build something that lasts.
